Discovery Games preparations start with the
Annual Bowls match
The organising committee of Dundee City Disability Sport (DCDS), would like to extend a warm welcome to all competitors and invite you to enter this event.The 2007 Discovery Games started yesterday evening (11/9/07) with the annual Bowls Challenge Match.
Bowlers with a disability challenge Staff and Committee members from Dundee City Disability Sport.
This year we were delighted to have on the staff team Councillor Richard McCready, Councillor Bob Duncan and MSP Joe Fitzpatrick also playing for the staff team were Eileen Ramsay, Gary Porter, Gordon Quinton, Darren Thomson and Bob Cassidy.
Playing for the Bowlers with a disability were Marion McIntosh, Alex Wright, Scott Holden, Christine Fisher, Angela Benvie, Martin Cassidy, Martin Maundrell
The Staff Bowlers, who may I add are complete novices, won the challenge match 21 points to 15. A victory that was sweet due to the staff team being beat quite convincingly last year. Revenge is sweet.
