Dundee Success at Scottish Disability Sport 28th National Carpet Bowls Championships - Fife Sports Centre, Glenrothes
A team of nine Bowlers representing Dundee City Disability Sport took part in the national Carpet Bowls Competition.
The Bowlers were:
Angela Benvie (Section 7) Christine Fisher (Section 9)
Marion McIntosh (Section 2) Sheena Laing (Section 9)
Tricia Kirk (Section 2) Fiona Graham (Section 9)
Laura Boag (Section 9) Scott Holden (Section 8)
Alex Wright (Section 8)
In Section 2 Tricia Kirk and Marion McIntosh progressed through to the final which resulted in Marion becoming the Scottish Champion and Tricia Scottish Runner Up.
In Section 7 Angela Benvie won two and lost two which did not give her enough points to progress.
In section 8 Scott Holden was knocked out in the first round and Alex progressed to the quarter finals
In section 9 both Fiona and Sheena were knocked out in the first round, Christine made it to the quarter finals and Laura made it to the finals and was the runner up.
Dundee City Disability Sport management committee would like to congratulate all Bowlers, especially Marion, Tricia and Laura for their efforts. We would also like to thank Darren Thomson Disability Sports Officer and Carol Duncan Disability Sports Coach for supporting all the team at this event.
Dundee has always supported this event and in recent years has always come home with either Scottish Champions or Scottish Runners-up.
