Pre-School Activities

Swimming for pre-school children with ASN Pre-school Children Lochee Leisure Centre Call Averil for further info

This is a class for pre-school children with Additional Support Needs. It is run on the same format as the Learn to Swim Programme run by the Leisure Centres.

These lessons will help the children develop water safety and confidence whilst teaching them how to float, move through the water, basic stroke techniques and breathing skills.

The class has the advantage of being small to minimise distraction and maximise learning.

Parents are required to go in the water with their child.

As the children progress they can enter the School Age Learn to Swim Programme run by the Leisure centres, this can be with support if required.

Classes run during term-time only. A holiday programme is usually available during the Easter, Summer and October Holidays, for info please contact Averil Anderson on 438866.

ASN Gymtime Pre-school Children Ardler Complex Call Averil for further info

A fun physical activity programme designed for children with Additional Support Needs. The class caters for all abilities and is based on the individuals needs. The programme works on developing a broad range of basic physical and social skills. The class consists of music and action songs, gross motor skills and sensory awareness activities.

This class is for you and your child if they have a disability, have a health difficulty, are not developing as you would expect or seem different from other children the same age.

It provides an opportunity for the children to have a fun and stimulating experience while making friends. It also allows the parents/carers to make friends and give and receive support from others with similar concerns. For info please contact Averil Anderson on 438866.

This is a class for Pre-school children with Additional Support Needs, supported by Sports development coaches but the instruction, facilities and horses are provided by The Brae, Riding Ability Centre, Linlathen grove, Dundee.

The children are introduced to the very placid and friendly horses and then learn the skills through games. The children are fully supported as necessary and build up a good rapport with the horses over the weeks, the lessons can be indoor in the arena or outdoors depending on the weather.

many of our past participants have gone on to ride with The Brae independently.

Classes are arranged as required, term-time/holidays and when available at The Brae. An enrolment and health questionnaire must be completed prior to taking part. Please contact Averil Anderson 438866 for a form.
